Chairperson for National Unity and Reconciliation Visits Keeramalai Housing Complex

Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, now the Chairperson of the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation during her visits to Jaffna peninsula on Thursday (11) had a cordial meeting with the Commander, Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Mahesh Senanayake at Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ–J).

The visiting Former President was received at the Palaly Airport by Governor for Northern Province, Mr Reginald Cooray, State Minister of Child Affairs, Mrs Vijayakala Maheswaran (MP), Commander, SF-J, Major General Mahesh Senanayake, Brigadier General Staff, SFHQ–J, Brigadier Anura Muhandiram, Senior DIG for Northern Province, Mr W.F.A Fernando and Officer Commanding Administration, Air Force Station, Palaly, Wing Commander Nuhan Rajapaksha.

During the discussion, the Jaffna Commander explained military involvement in Reconciliation and National Rebuilding programmes and the support being given by the Security Forces for resettlement of displaced people. Further he explained the ongoing Keeramalai housing project.

During the two-day visit, Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga went to see the Keeramalai housing project being constructed by the Security Forces. Major General Mahesh Senanayake was also associated with her visits.
