Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) at the request of Ven Mahanuwara Kashyapalankara Thero, Chief Incumbent of Bandarawela, Pattiyagedara Sri Kashyapa Viharaya and Pirivena and the incumbent for Saptha Maha Viharaya who had been appointed the Sanghanayake Amarapura Sri Dharma Rakkitha Nikaya, offered their assistance for conduct of the State reception ceremony, expected to be held on Thursday (18).
Accordingly, the troops assisted the members of the laity (Dayaka Sabha) for erection of a decorative archway and all forms of decorations on Tuesday (16) on the directions of Major General Sumedha Perera, Commander, SFHQ-C.
Members of the laity praised the troops for active assistance in this regard and extended their maximum support for completion of the tasks.
The ceremony was to be headed by a VVIP according to the information given by the monk.
Meanwhile, 18 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of 122 Brigade of the SFHQ-C offered their labour assistance to clean up the government’s Elders Home at Kataragama while attending to minor repairs in the place.
The project was carried out on the instructions of the Commanding Officer 18 SLNG.
