One Officer and sixteen Other Ranks of the Security Force Headquarters – Central (SFHQ-Cen) on the directions of the Commander Security Forces – Central, Major General Rukmal Diasrushed to Wadinahelaya area in the Kumbalwela Divisional Secretariat on Friday (21) and doused a fast spreading wild fire in the location.
Prevailing drought and dry weather patterns regularly tend to cause instantaneous bushfires in respective areas, necessitating the intervention of fire-fighters and the troops since the public often fail to contain the situation.
