CDS Makes a Formal Visit to Jaffna Commander

Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) during a formal visit to the Jaffna peninsula on Thursday (28) had an official meeting with Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J) at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) in Palaly.

During the formal meeting, Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, SF -J extended a warm welcome and briefed him on the prevailing security and other social issues in the peninsula.

Further, the Commander, SF-J made a presentation on the ‘Role and responsibility of the SFHQ-J and military assistance in post-conflict scenario’ at the main conference hall of the Headquarters. Tri Forces Senior Officers were also present in the conference.

Later, the Commander, SF-J and Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne, CDS exchanged mementos to mark the event. The visiting CDS signed the visitor’s book to mark his memorable visit to the SFHQ-J.
