Mr Mark Haynes, Counsellor, Safety and Security in Colombo-based High Commission of Canada during a visit to Wanni area called on Major General A.K.S Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ-W) and received a comprehensive account on various humanitarian and development projects, now in progress in the region.
During the meeting, Major General Perera explained the series of measures being carried out in relation to resettlement, de-mining, rehabilitation of ex-combatants and their social re-integration, supply of relief to the displaced and the needy with the support of the District Secretariat for Vavuniya.
