The coordination, initiated by the 66 Division Headquarters enabled to receive the patronage of the ‘Foundation for Hope’ for distribution of bagsful of essentials among the needy on Wednesday (22) at Arasapurakulam Battalion Training School. Each bag consisted of dry rations, milk powder and essentials to the value of Rs 5000/=.
The project sponsored through one Mr Aravindan of the Foundation for Hope, selected 15 underprivileged and needy families in Pooneryn areas as beneficiaries in consultation with Grama Seva officials. The donor requested the 66 Division troops should organize this distribution at Arasapurakulam Battalion Training School.
Representatives of the Foundation, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 66 Division, Brigadier Deepthi Jayathilake together with commanders of the 661 & 662 Brigades, Commanding Officers in under command Battalions and civilians around the area attended the event.
