Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera of Sri Lanka Light Infantry who was recently appointed as the new Director Personnel Administration (DPA) of the Army, assumed duties on Monday (18) at his office.
He is the 37th Director Personnel Administration at Army Headquarters. He was the General Officer Commanding in 64 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) before he was appointed to this appointment. He also has held the appointment of Director Media at the Army Headquarters / Military Spokesman, prior to his assumption of office in 64 Division. In addition, he has served many other key appointments.
At his new office, Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera performed religious observances and symbolically placed his signature for a formal document to signify the acceptance of his new appointment. Afterwards, he was introduced to Senior Officers, Officers and members of his staff at the Directorate of Personnel Administration.
