A workshop to educate Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers serving under the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on ‘International Humanitarian Law and Contemporary Challenges’ got underway recently at the SFHQ-MLT premises for two-days.
Organized on the instructions of Major General Dampath Fernando, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu, the workshop was attended by 25 Senior Officers of Brigades and Units.
Mr Chandana Jayawardena of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delivered the opening lecture and educated the gathering. The workshop, coordinated by the Directorate of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law of the Army began after a brief ceremony.
Brigadier B.P.S De Silva, Brigadier General Staff of the SFHQ-MLT attended the inauguration as the Chief Guest for the occasion.
