With the sheer intention of providing blood to the patients in Vavuniya, officers, other ranks and civil members serving the 56 Division at Kokkeliya under Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni organized a blood donation camp at 56 Division Headquarters a few days ago.
Medical and nursing staff at Anuradhapura hospitals supported the project and made arrangements accordingly. 165 personnel of the 56 Division donated blood during the clinic.
Collected blood was donated to Vavuniya hospital at the request of medical authorities.
Meanwhile, more than 100 Army personnel at Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) at Boyagane, Kurunegala conducted a blood donation campaign last week in order to provide blood to the Kurunegala Teaching hospital for its Thalassemia control project.
