Awareness Programme on ‘Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’

Troops at the Security Forces Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), organized an awareness programme on ‘Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’ on the directions of the Commander of the Army and the Directorate of Psychological Operations in keeping with the President’s concept of having a country free from drugs.

Troops at the SFHQ-KLN in a bid to enlighten the troops on the international day against addiction to cigarettes launched them 14-day awareness programme during June 08-22 at the SFHQ -KLN area.

During the programme, several lecture sessions and activities were conducted while educating soldiers on the dangers of the use of alcohol and drugs.

A gathering of 1300 military personnel including several officers listened to the lectures.

Under the close guideline of the Commander Security Force – Kilinochchi (SF-KLN), Major General K.A.D.A Karunasekara, the Chief Coordinator for Civil Affairs, Lieutenant Colonel, M.T.K.R Silva, conducted the programme.
