A medical clinic and an awareness programme on Chronic Kidney Diseases (CKD) to coincide with the World Kidney Day was held on March 9. It was initiated by the General Officer Commanding, 62 Division with the medical assistance of the Padaviya Base Hospital for soldiers serving the 62 Division at its Divisional Headquarters Gymnasium, Galkulama.
This valuable lecture on Friday (10) followed by a medical clinic to identify kidney patients among soldiers was conducted by Dr A.G.M.M Darmadasa, Medical Officer of Health in Padaviya and the additional Medical Officer of Health for Chronic Kidney Diseases in the same area.
7 medical officers attended the consultation programme and the health promotion campaign along with 8 other medical assistants.
A total of 250 participants including Officers and Other Ranks underwent medical examinations.
