Australian INGO Philanthropists Here to Help Disable War Heroes

Four representatives of the ‘World Community Service Helping Hands Project’ of Australia who are now in Sri Lanka to provide some assistance to disable War Heroes of the Sri Lanka Army paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva at the Army Headquarters Thursday (31) afternoon. 

Those representatives from their International Non Governmental Organization (INGO) at the request of the Directorate of Rehabilitation, have offered a stock of artificial limbs for the use of handicapped War Heroes. 

The project was successfully coordinated by Major General Susil Chandrapala (Retd) of the Sri Lanka Army. 

On arrival at the Commander’s Office, those representatives were received by the Commander and other senior officers. 

The visiting donors led by Mr Terry Daley, Manager of World Community Service Helping Hands Project exchanged a few thoughts with the Commander and assured continued support for the well-being of those disable War Heroes.  

Major General Nandana Udawatte, Adjutant General, Brigadier S.K Thirunakarasu, Director Rehabilitation and Brigadier V.A.P.C Napagoda, Director Veterans Affairs were associated with the meeting. 

Exchange of mementos ended the cordial interaction.
