HE Mr Bryce Hutchesson, the Australian High Commissioner for Sri Lanka together with Mr Michael Newman, the first secretary, Mr Nicholas Burnett, the second Secretary and Ms Jhannara Mohideen Research and Information Officer, paid a courtesy call on Major General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander, Security Force Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ-J) Wednesday (16) morning at Palaly.
During the cordial meeting, the SF Commander enlightened them on the present security situation and the civil administration system in place in the peninsula.
Furthermore, the Commander briefly explained them about military programmes launched to support promotion of democracy, reconciliation and development in the peninsula.
Towards the culmination of the cordial discussion, Major General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander, SFHQ-J presented a memento of goodwill and memory to the High Commissioner.
The visiting Australian High Commissioner, Mr Bryce Hutchesson left his signature on the visitors’ book, appreciating the contribution being made by the SL Army towards reconciliation.
