The Australian Deputy High Commissioner for Sri Lanka and Maldives, Mr. Tim Huggins, together with Defence Advisor to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Captain Jason Sears, Counselor and Superintendent of Australian Border Force Mr. Tom Brennan and the Office Manager of Department of Defence Ms. Ruvindri Jayawickrama and the Office Manager of Australian Border Force Ms. Krishanthi Rathnayake visited the Security Forces Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Thursday (23) during a tour to the North.
General Officer Commanding 66 Division Brigadier D.C. Keppetiwalana, Brigadier General Staff of SF-KLN,Brigadier R. M. P. J Ratnayake and Brigadier Admin and Quartering of SF-KLN C. K. Handunmulla warmly welcomed the Australian delegation on behalf of the Commander SF-KLN.
During the cordial meeting, General Officer Commanding conducted a presentation on military roles in post-conflict scenario in Kilinochchi and the 5R process.
Subsequently, the Australian delegation visited the Harmony Centre and they were welcomed by General Officer Commanding 57 Division Brigadier W.A.V.A Sudasingha and 571 Brigade Commander, Colonel K. T. A. D. S Kolambathntri.
Afterwards, the delegation was educated on social welfare programmes which are carried out by the Harmony Centre.
Finally, Mr. Tim Huggins and Captain Jason Sears placed their signatures in the visitors' book to mark their visit to the SF-KLN.
