Ashan and Ishan Win ‘Foxhill Supercross - 2017’

Ashan Silva emerged the Best Driver in the Sri Lanka's premier annual motor sporting event, 'Diyatalawa Fox Hill Supercross - 2017' held at the Sri Lanka Military Academy Foxhill ground in Diyatalawa on Saturday (22) while Ishan Dassanayake continued to retain his title as the Best Rider in the 25th Fox Hill Supercorss - 2017.

The event was organized by the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) in coordination with the Sri Lanka Automobile Drivers Association under the guidance of Sri Lanka Automobile Sports (SLAS) and the Ministry of Sports.

The Fox Hill race track is considered a fast and tricky track which makes it dangerous, but exciting for the seasoned competitors who dare to test their skills in trying conditions. Fox Hill draws the island’s best drivers and riders to Diyathalawa every year.

Hon. Minister of Sports, Dayasiri Jayasekara together with the Chief of Staff of the Army Major General Mahesh Senanayake were among those who witnessed the interesting event.

The event, held for the 25th consecutive occasion is one of the top-end races to be held in the country. The race draws the cream of the racing tribe to show their driving and riding skills in the unique 2 km track.

During this year’s event, more than two hundred riders and drivers participated in 24 events, including 11 motorbike and 13 events with cars and jeeps. More than 25,000 spectators thronged there to witness the races this year.

The ‘Foxhill Supercross - 2017’ organized by the Sri Lanka Military Academy Diyatalawa was the silver jubilee event.
