Army Wushu Player Wins Bronze in 14th World Wushu Championship in Russia

Sri Lanka Army Wushu player, Corporal Laxman Gunasekara of the Sri Lanka Army Wushu Federation represented the 14th World Wushu Championships - Russia and bagged a Bronze medal in the Men's ‘Sanda’ event under 48 kg category showing his excellent performances at the Gymnastics Palace, Kazan, Russia during 29, September to 3, October 2017.

More than 300 competitors belonging to 39 different countries took part in the World Wushu Championships in Russia.

On his arrival back home Thursday (5) evening, Bronze medallist was welcomed in a warm reception at the Bandaranayake Internatrional Airport (BIA), attended by several Senior Officers of the Army Wushu Federation and family members.

Brigadier Prabath Dematampitiya is the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Army Wushu Federation.
