Army Women’s Cricket Team Wins ‘B’ Division Championship

Army women’s cricket team during the Division - II final cricket match did well and won the overall ‘B’ Division Championship on Thursday (26) beating their arrival Shakthi Sports Club by 9 wickets.   

The match played at Thurstan grounds saw Shakthi Sports Club scored 82/10 in the 1st innings in 24.5 overs. In response, the winners, Army women scored 83/1 in 14.4 overs and went for a comfortable victory.

Most recently formed Sri Lanka Army Women’s cricket team in the year 2012 after beating Sri Lanka Air Force Women’s team entered the finals in the tournament.

With that victory, Army Women’s Cricket team is to be qualified to enter the Division - I in SLAC organized Division - I tournament next year.
