Army Women's Corps Marks Its 15th Anniversary


Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC), giving pride of place to religious observances, marked its 15th Anniversary on Saturday (17) with the participation of its Colonel Commandant, Major General S.R Manawaduge, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters - South (SFHQ-S) as the Chief Guest.

A ‘Bodhi Pooja’ at Sri Kalyanaashramaya at Narahenpita and other religious observances afterwards on Thursday (15) inaugurated the anniversary ceremonies.

A Guard Turnout and a ceremonial parade at SLAWC Headquarters greeted the Colonel Commandant who was attending the event as the Chief Guest on Saturday (17).

A brief address to the occasion by the Chief Guest paid tribute to the memory of fallen War Heroes, wounded woman soldiers and the services rendered by past Colonel Commandants, Centre Commandants and all others.

A fellow-lunch with all ranks on the same day culminated the anniversary arrangements.
