Sri Lanka Army shooters who competed in the ‘Australasia Handgun Championship - 2019’ in the Philippines during 10 - 18 November won the Bronze medal (production section) in the practical Pistol Shooting category (women’s).
The Championship tournament, held at the Front Sight Shooting Range in the Philippines was competed by 840 shooters from 45 countries.
6 shooters of the Sri Lanka Army, lead by Lieutenant Colonel H.K.L.J Perera, Team Manager participated in the event.
Lieutenant L.A.S.M Liyanarachchi of 7 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, Lance Corporal S.M.N Dewmini of 2 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and Lance Corporal A.K Kaushalya of 5 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps contributed to the achievement of the Bronze Medal. Others who took part in the tournament were Sergeant K.M.R Jayantha Kumara and Corporal W.K.B.A.P Fernando of the Army.
