Army Wins National Power Lifting Championship -2015

The National Power lifting Championships – 2015 was held on 20 November at Maitree Hall, Bandaragama. Teams representing various institutes and schools participated in the tournament.

The Army Power Lifting Team showed exceptional performances in the tournament which won them the overall championship in the tournament.

Here follows the Army Power lifters’ achievements:

Lance Corporal W.D.G.S. Wicramarathne – 3 SLCMP – Gold Medal in 59kg weight Category

Private T.D.P. Fernando – 5 SLCMP –Gold Medal in 120kg Weight Category

Private Y.J.S. Abeywickrama – 12 SLNG – Gold Medal in 66 Weight Category

Lance Corporal J.A.M. Jagath Kumarathunga – 4 SLNG – Gold Medal in 74kg Weight Category

Private K. Somadasa – 2 SLCMP – Gold Medal in 105kg Weight Category
