Army Under 23 Team Does Well in Cricket

Under 23 cricketers in the Army did well during the 23 Division ‘A’ tournament, played at Welisara Navy grounds during June 19 - 21, 2013.

The team, facing the sailors for the first time recorded win in the first innings collecting 195 against 10 wickets while the rivals scored 116 against 10 wickets.

However, the second innings turned more critical and both teams in 67 overs separately secured 185 runs against 9 wickets and brought the match to a draw, sending excited waves among cricketers and onlookers.

Private L.P.L Madusanka took five wickets in the first innings and four wickets in the second innings, thereby showing his cricket talents.
