Army Troops Support Another Joint Dengue Eradication Drive

One more three-day long Dengue eradication programme, planned jointly by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Defence in parallel with the ongoing Presidential Task Force on Dengue control got to a start yesterday (28) with the participation of school students, teachers, minor staff, parents and more than 700 Army personnel.

Those volunteers in the programme would largely concentrate on school premises, public places and other vulnerable spots across the country in search of breeding spots.

Army personnel serving in island-wide Security Force Headquarters (SFHQs) in their hundreds under this drive joined hands with other participants at separate SFHQs levels on the directions of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake on Friday (28).

This programme would also continue until Sunday (30) across the country.
