Army Troops with Others Clean Kandy

A total of 62 Army personnel of the 11 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) on the guidelines given by Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army, together with Policemen, Civil Security Department personnel, state employees and volunteers on Monday (6) joined hands together to clean the heart of Kandy town and its surroundings, ahead of the forthcoming Dalada Perahera festival.

The project, ‘Environment is Sacred’ was attended by Hon Sarath Ekanayake, Chief Minister for Central Province, GOC, 11 Division, tri-service officers and civilians. Major General Rukmal Dias, Commander, Security Forces - Central had given his approval to the drive.
