Army swimmers competing in the 45th Open Water 2 Mile Sea Swimming Championship - 2018, organized by the Ambalangoda Dharmashoka College on Sunday (18) clinched the win in male category. This was the second consecutive victory of Army swimmers.
Held at Ambalangoda beach, more than 300 swimmers representing 30 sports clubs and schools took part in the swimming events.
Army team showed their talents and clinched the overall championship in the Men’s category.
A total of 15 Army swimmers out of a total of about 300 swimmers were selected out of the first 25 swimmers who were selected among the achievers. Lance Corporal A.M.A.S Abeysinghe of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps emerging as an achiever secured the 3rd place in sequence.
