Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army in response to a request, forwarded by the Visually-impaired Women’s Welfare Association of Sri Lanka (VIWWA) has donated a sum of Rs 2 lakhs towards its commemoration of the International Women’s Day.
Chairperson, VIWWA Ms M. Ushani Dilrukshi on Tuesday (March 1), invited to the office of the Directorate of Army Welfare was presented with the cheque to that value by Brigadier Sunil Wanniarachchi, Director, Army Welfare on behalf of the Commander of the Army.
Ms Dilrukshi thanked the Commander of the Army and the organization for its considerateness towards the Association for Visually-impaired Women and its conduct of the International Women’s Day event as planned.
