Army Stall at Food Festival Gets First Place

The exhibition stall, presented by the Army-managed ‘Laya Beach’ Hotel at Wadduwa in the recent ‘Colombo Seafood Festival 2017’, jointly organized by the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry and the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) near Viharamaha Devi Park, won the first place, beating many other exhibits of leading Hotels in Colombo.

The inaugural opening of the event was held last Friday (8) under the patronage of HE the President Maithripala Sirisena at the invitation of Minister of Fisheries Hon Mahinda Amaraweera.

The Colombo Seafood Festival was an event of flavour and flair, making Colombo “the place” to be when it comes to culinary diversity. The Colombo Food Festival served as a means of bringing in a new ambience to the culinary landscape of Colombo.

The certificate and trophy for the best stall was awarded to the Laya Beach Management by both Minister Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Finance and Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Fisheries.
