The Army stall at ‘Shilpa Sena’ Exhibition at the BMICH drew huge numbers of visitors in the past few days after it was opened on Thursday (18).
HE the President Maithripala Sirisena as the Chief Guest on the final day of the exhibition opened it on Sunday (21) after lighting the traditional oil lamp at the invitation of Hon Minister of Science Technology and Research, Mr Sujeewa Senasinghe.
Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army on Sunday (21) visited the exhibition and went to see the Army stall, ‘Rata Rakina Jathiya’ where a large collection of combat equipment, accessories, weapons, uniform varieties, explosives, etc were on display.
Lieutenant General Senanayake spoke to the Army personnel manning the stall and encouraged them during his stay in the stall for a few minutes.
