Sri Lanka Army Soccer Team emerged Runner-up in the year 2010 Premier League Soccer Championship recently. Army also was adjudged the most disciplined team of the tournament and Warrant Officer II Izadeen M. N. M. of Sri Lanka Army was awarded the prize for highest goal taker of the tournament for his achievement of 20 goals.
Soldiers under the able Chairmanship of Brigadier H. D. W. Kariyawasam, were trained by Major S. Pathmanadan with the assistance of Sergeant Fawum S. M. and Corporal Illiyas N. P. M.
