Army Shooters Set New Records in Silhouette Shooting


Sri Lanka Army shooters making an unparalleled record in the field of shooting, had a clean sweep securing all three first places in the Silhouette Shooting Tournament of the International Metallic Silhouette Shooting Union.

All three teams who represented the Army won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places after competing with 10 teams according to Brigadier S. Niwunhella, Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Small Arms Association.

Held at Katana-Negombo Firing Range, the shooters of the Army displaying exceptional skills throughout the whole tournament out shown setting a new record, having won all three first places in the single event.

Organized jointly by National Rifle Association and the National Silhouette Shooting Association, the tournament got underway at firing range of the Katana-Negombo Firing Association during July 3-6, 2014.

Sri Lanka Army team scoring 176 points made a startling win in the final round. 2nd and 3rd places also went to the Army shooters.
