Army shooters of the Sri Lanka Army Small Arms Association competing in the IPSC National Shooting Championship Tournament that got underway at Welisara Navy firing range during September 19-21 secured three first places in the Open Division (men) B group, Open Division (women’s), the first place in the Open Division (single), Production Division (men’s) team first place and Production Division (single) first place.
Air Marshal K.A Gunatilleke, Commander of the Air Force attended as the Chief Guest for the ceremony.
Award of certificates took place on Sunday (21).
Sergeant W.P.N Dhammika became the overall individual Champion of the Open Division and received the award from the Air Force Commander Air Marshal K.A Gunathilake, Chief Guest.
Open Division (Men) team won the championship and team Captain Major M.D.K.S Mayadunna received the trophy from Rear Admiral N.K.D Nanayakkara.
Production Division (Men) team won the championship and team Captain Major P.A.C.P Kumara received the trophy from Rear Admiral N.K.D Nanayakkara.
Open Division (Women) team won the championship and team Captain Lieutenant C.S Weerakoon received the trophy from Rear Admiral N.K.D Nanayakkara.
Event was organized by National Rifle Association.
