Sri Lanka Army Engineers under the Presidential Secretariat’s ‘Sirisara Pivisuma’ on the directions of the Commander of the Army undertook the renovation of those tanks in the East and the erection of the 30 km-long electric fence to keep off elephants from entering villages.

Sri Lanka Army Engineers, well recognized as best service providers to the nation have been assigned the daunting task of restoring and reconstructing 473 island-wide tanks, including some of small ones in villages under the Army’s nation-building concept, introduced by the Commander of the Army.
