Completing one more community-oriented service project, meant for social and spiritual development among the masses in Welikanda, Vakarai, Thoppigala, Valachchenai, Kattankudi and Batticoloa areas, the Army troops under 233 Brigade repaired and cleaned the Kannan Amman Hindu Kovil at Wattavan with the support of civilians in the area.
The project, one among 1500 earmarked for the year 2010 in the area, drew a large number of enthusiastic devotees as well as civilians.
The participants in the Shramadana campaign were provided refreshments and lunch by the Army.
