Army Medical Teams Open One More Dengue Testing Laboratory

Aware of the need to expedite the pre-screening of blood samples for diagnosis of Dengue patients, the Army taking one more step further, set up a separate new medical laboratory at the Kiribathgoda base hospital premises this morning (14) in order to support the ongoing drive against spread of Dengue.

Under this arrangement manned by medical personnel of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) will conduct blood test for Dengue antigen for the patients reaching the laboratory at the hospital.

This is the second such medical laboratory established by the Army for the benefit of civilians.

Another similar type laboratory was established by the Army near general hospital at Negombo a few days ago.

A medical team on the instructions of the Commander of the Army will continue to run this temporary laboratory until further notice.
