Army Karate Players Show Colours in Finals

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army as the Chief Guest extended his best wishes to Army Karate players by being present at Panagoda Indoor Stadium on Saturday (29) where the finals of the Inter Regiment Karate Championship - 2018 took place.

Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Karate players (male) carried away the championship trophy pushing Sri Lanka National Guard counterparts to be the runner-up.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps won the championship during the finals while the second place was won by players in the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps.

Coloured with group demonstrations of Kumite, Karate and Kata, the event also showcased cultural feats. Lieutenant General Senanayake distributed trophies, medals and awards towards the end of the event.

The Chief Guest was welcomed by Major General Aruna Sudasingha, Director General Sports on his arrival at the venue.
