Army Initiative Gets Barbed Wire Rolls for Resettled People

Enabling 59 more families resettled in Awaranthalawa village to block out their new plots of land, the 211 Brigade Headquarters with the patronage of the Alliance Development Trust Organization distributed 118 barbed wire rolls among those Sinhala and Tamil families on Monday (18).

Those newly resettled Sinhala and Tamil people after allocation of land to them failed to get their land allocation blocked out since they did not have adequate means for to buy barbed wire.

However, lack of those resources was brought to the notice of the Alliance Development Trust Organization. It swiftly and positively responded to the requirement following coordination done by Mr A. Rahulan and Mr Prasandan, the officers in charge of the organization in the Northern Province.

The near Rs. 6 lakh worth barbed wire was thus distributed among those people during a ceremony organized at Awaranthalawa Chetiyagiri Temple premises.

Brigadier P.M.S.A Pallemulla 211 Brigade Commander, 211 Brigade Civil Coordination Officer, senior Army officers, officials of the Alliance Development Trust Organization and family members of those recipients attended the occasion.
