Army Footballers Carry Away Cargills FA Tournament

Sri Lanka Army footballers, in one of the most convincing victories made history securing the Cargills FA championship for the 4th consecutive year.

Cargills FA Cup that evoked a sensational topic among island-wide football fans in the past few weeks worked an extremely curious guess as the tournament dragged on in an excitingly competitive manner.

Today's final encounter with the Java Lane SC, the Army footballers determinedly knocked out their rivals by 5-1 goals, indeed a noted achievement in the sphere of football - playing.

Army’s Warrant Officer - I Mohamed Issadeen was awarded as the most valuable player of the FA Cup tournament while Corporal Kumara Sirisena was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper and Private Asikur Rahman awarded as the player of the match.
