Army Cricket Captain Represents Sri Lanka ‘A’ Team Touring UK


Lance Corporal  Asela Gunarathna, the Captain of Army Cricket Team, has been selected to represent Sri Lanka’s ‘A’ Team currently touring the United Kingdom.

He became qualified to be the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team by scoring 615 runs and taking 10 wickets as the all rounder in the last Premier League Tournament.

He is the third cricketer to represent Sri Lanka’s team after Lieutenant Ajantha Mendis and Staff Sergeant Sekkuge Prasanna of the Sri Lanka Army.

Lance Corporal Asela Gunarathna has already been selected to the 15- member squad in the forthcoming Asian Games to be held in South Korea.
