Troops serving 211 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) mustered the financial support of Singapore Maha Bodhi Karuna Association and distributed uniform materials for employees, serving the newly-opened St John Ambulance Service in Vavuniya on Sunday (4).
Initiatives for establishment of a branch of St John Ambulance Service were taken by 211 Brigade Headquarters, evaluating the importance of having such a service in the area for the benefit of civilians.
However, financial constraints prevented them from having necessary uniforms while in service. Distribution ceremony took place at Vavuniya Perakum Maha Vidyalaya in the presence of a large gathering of senior officers, 211 Brigade Commander, Principal at Perakum Maha Vidyalaya, St John Ambulance Service employees and students.
