10 civilians, selected from low-income group families in Tharanikulam area of the 611 Brigade under the 61 Division of the Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) received interest-free loans for self-employment, following initiatives taken by the 611 Brigade Headquarters.
Patronage of the ‘Namaste’ non-governmental organization, chaired by Mr Chutta Rathnathinkam and coordination done by former President of Colombo Rotary Club, made the distribution of these loans possible to those selected civilians who are determined to raise their own living standards with the financial support (Rs 50,000/=) given to each of them.
A brief ceremony to give away those interest-free loans took place at the 611 Brigade Headquarters last Wednesday (21).
Mr Chutta Rathnathinkam, Mr Lucky De Silva, former President, Colombo Rotary Club, Brigadier K.G.D. Perera, 611 Brigade Headquarters, senior officers and members of the local community attended the occasion.
