A sum of Rs 1.5 million, made available by Colombo Rotary Club in coordination with the Presidential Task Force, was distributed among 29 Wanni civilians as interest-free loans, meant to further improve their self-employment projects, agricultural promotion and infrastructure development.
The event took place at the 611 Brigade Headquarters on Wednesday (28). Those recipients got loans to the value of Rs 50,000.00 and Rs 100,000.00 under separate arrangements, depending on the nature of their planned projects.
Brigadier R.K.B.S Ketakumbura, Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ-W), Mr Senaka Amarasinghe, former president, Colombo Rotary Club, Mrs Pubudu De Soyza, Colombo Rotary Club and several state officials attended the event.
The event was organized on the instructions of Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ-W) under the supervision of Brigadier A. Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division.
