Men’s team of the Sri Lanka Army Carrom Committee made a new debut in the Defence Services Carrom Championship – 2018 tournament and bagged the Championship while its women’s team excelled reaching the Runners-up slot in the face of equally clever Carrom players at national level during 10 – 11 July.
The awarding ceremony at Sri Lanka Army Signal Corps premises in Panagoda was chaired by Major General Nilantha Hettiarachchi, Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army as the Chief Guest.
Major General Anura Sudasinghe, Director General Sports Board of the Army, who encouraged them for best results, was also present during the occasion. Among other participants were Senior Officers, Managers and Players of the tri-services.
Major General Anura Sudasinghe is the Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Carrom Committee, Brigadier Ranjith Dharmasiri and the Coach of the team Mr. Dammika Wijesinghe congratulated them together with others who were present at the ceremony.
