Army Boxers Shine Supreme in Defence Services Boxing Championship Trophy with 7 Gold Medals Out of 10

Sri Lanka Army won the Defence Services Boxing Championship Trophy - 2014, organized by Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Boxing Association, held at the Indoor Stadium, Army Physical Training School (APTS), Panagoda. It was conducted for two days (Jan 22 - 23).

A total of 30 boxers from tri-services, Army, Navy and Air Force fought for supremacy under 10 different weight categories.

Army boxers won the overall Championship with 7 Gold medals and 3 silver medals, repeating the historic record secured in the year 2009.

Sri Lanka Navy with 2 Gold medals and 4 Silver medals was the runners-up and the third place went to Sri Lanka Air Force.

Air Vice Marshal M.L.K Perera as the Chief Guest, Major General Mano Perera, President, Army Boxing Association, senior officers, Officers and other rankers witnessed the finals.
