Anandians’ Initiative Brings Northerners to South on Goodwill Tour

Old Anandians at Colombo Ananda College launched the Phase II of their ‘South to North Brotherhood Programme’ during 17 - 20 October with the patronage, extended by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, who himself is an old Anandian.

Under this project, 38 students, 9 teachers and 6 parents of Alvai Ambal Vidyalayam in Point Pedro left for Kataragama on 17 October with the blessings of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) and the practical support, extended by the Directorate of Supply and Transport and the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME).

During the journey, the group was received at Colombo Fort Railway Station by the Army, together with organizing old Anandians and they were provided necessary overnight accommodation facilities and meals. Similarly, they were entertained to a special tea arrangement at the SLEME Regimental Centre plus breakfast on the day of return from Kataragama.

In Kataragama also, the Army troops provided meals and refreshments in close coordination with troops serving in the area. In addition, 4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Headquarters were also instrumental in providing necessary support for the journey.

‘South to North Brotherhood Programme’, an initiative of the old Anandians from the South, attached to the Old Boys Association earlier launched the First Phase of this project.

This conceptual exchange programme was designed by south-based old Anandians with the intention of promoting gestures of goodwill, understanding, friendship and ethnic harmony between Northerners and Southerners. The group from the North enjoyed the hospitality of Southerners during their stay in the South. Nike Sneakers | Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG University Blue - Gov
