AAPTC Commandants’ Conference Second Session Begins

Three-day sessions of the 9th Asia-Pacific Peace-keeping Training Centre (APPTC), Commandants’ Conference, themed ‘Challenges of Developing a Robust Peacekeeping Mindset’ and the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Asia-Pacific Peace Operations Training Centres (AAPTC), commenced yesterday morning (1) at Hotel Taj Samudra, Colombo, attended by more than 40 foreign delegates and the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake as the Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony.

The Second day session of the Asia-Pacific Peace-keeping Training Centre Commandants’ Conference at Taj Samudra Hotel started this morning (2) with separate group discussions.

Day two session will have separate group discussions on ‘‘Forming Mobile Support Team of AAPTC’, ‘Even Distribution of Similar Type of Courses Throughout the Year’, ‘Sponsoring of Secretariat to Attend Annual Meetings of other Three Regional Training Associations’ and ‘Conducting of Thematic Course’ under the main theme, ‘Challenges of Developing a Robust Peacekeeping Mindset’.

A panel discussion would also follow at the end of the session.
