9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops of the 12 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen), took immediate steps to bring a fast spreading bush fire under control in the general area of Weheragoda in Badalkumbura in the Monaragala District on Friday (23).
9 SLSR troopsof the 12 Division reached Badalkumbura area and brought the spread of the fire under control on the instructions of Major General Rukmal Dias, Commander, Security Forces - Central.
More than 25 Army personnel at ground level contributed to wrest control of the fast spreading fire under the supervision of Major General Nishantha Wanniarachchi, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 12 Division.
