8 SLASC Opens Newly Constructed Buildings

Newly-built Guard room, Regimental Police Post and the Visitors’ Room were opened at the 8 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) in Diyatalawa on Tuesday (20).

Major General A.V Rupasinghe, Director, Supply and Transport attended as the Chief Guest and opened the buildings at the auspicious minute.

Director of Supply and Transport was honoured in a Guard Turnout presented by 8 SLASC troops at the entrance to the premises.

The traditional oil lamp was lit by the Chief Guest before he along with senior officers attended the opening of the new units.

During the programme, the Chief Guest planted a mango tree sapling in the premises. At the end of the day’s programme, the Chief Guest delivered a troop address.

Colonel T.M Drahim, Colonel Admin & Quartering, Lieutenant Colonel K.G.U.T Jayasinghe, Commanding Officer, 8 SLASC together with officers, other ranks attended the programme.
