7 Signal Players Emerge Champions in SFHQ-C Inter Battalions Badminton Tournament

 

7 Sri Lanka Signals Corps (SLSC) badminton players emerged champions in the Inter Battalions Badminton Tournament, organized by the Security Force Headquarters Central (SFHQ-C) under the direction of Major General A.M Perera, Commander, SFHQ-C at Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) Gymnasium, Diyatalawa on Wednesday (22).

The preliminary two rounds were held on Saturday and Sunday (11 and 12) with the participation of the 7 SLSC, 1 Gemunu Watch (GW), 14 Gajaba Regiment (GR), 2 and 3 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), 18 and 22 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) and 1 and 2 Sri Lanka Riffle Corps troops.

Major W.D.I.P De Alwis from 7 SLSC was awarded the Best Player trophy and the 18 SLNG Battalion clinched the runners-up trophy.

The tournament was organized to uplift the sports skills of Army personnel was inaugurated by the Commander, Major General A.M Perera as the chief guest, together with Brigadier R.W.W.A.D.B Rajaguru, Commandant, SLMA and Mr. T.P Anura Hemantha Kumara, Divisional Secretary for Haputale.
