Combat Training School (CTS) at Ampara organized a special donation programme to mark the 69th Independence Day anniversary on the instructions of the Commandant, CTS, Brigadier Shantha Dissanayake at Sarana Children’s Orphanage at Ampara on Friday (3).
A total of 15 officers and 50 other ranks of the CTS visited Sarana Children’s Orphanage at Ampara, Uhana and provided a donation of sanitary items, worth Rs 60000/= and lunch to 70 inmates. Gifts also were donated to the children in the same programme.
This arrangement was a collective effort of the officers and other rankers of the CTS where they voluntarily sponsored the programme.
The programme culminated after entertaining the inmates by the visiting troops in a musical segment.
Commanding Officer, CTS, Lieutenant Colonel Nalin Bandaranayake, senior officers, other donors, children and officials of Sarana Children’s Orphanage participated at the occasion.
