66 Division troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), considering requirements of the students and pregnant women in Pooneryn areas, succeeded in getting a donation programme organized recently at Wannerikulam Maha Vidyalaya, Pooneryn with sponsorship generously provided by the Vishwa Parami Foundation.
The Vishwa Parami Foundation in response to a request, made by Major General Duminda Keppetiwalana, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 66 Division, donated stationery, school accessories and nutrients to the value of Rs 3 lakhs for distribution among 100 students of Wannerikulam Maha Vidyalaya, Pooneryn.
At the same time, 15 packs of nutrients were also given away to pregnant women in Pooneryn area during the same simple ceremony. Those packs consisted of mosquito nets, flasks, baby soaps, etc in addition to other nutrients, such as cereals and milk powder.
Major General Duminda Keppetiwalana, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 66 Division, Chief Guest graced the distributing ceremony, coloured with teams of dancers from Sath Ranga dancing group in the same school.
Brigade Commanders of 661 and 662 Brigades, Senior Officers, principal, teachers, parents and students attended the event.
