Major General Duminda Keppetiwalana, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 66 Division, relinquished his duties on Tuesday (10) to take over another appointment at the Army Headquarters.
He completed nearly two years as the GOC in 66 Division, based in Pooneryn where he conducted a number of community-oriented projects.
To mark this occasion, a sequence of events took place with the participation of the Officers and Other Ranks of the 66 Division. It included a Guard Turn Out and a Guard of Honour, awarded by the 5 (V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment and 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry respectively. Subsequently, the out-going, GOC addressed the 66 Division troops and wished them well.
Further, an All Ranks tea table and a farewell dinner got under way before a memento was presented as a token of appreciation.
Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Staff Officers and Officers participated in the event.
